I would LOVE to see a town hall or news special where Mark Hurd is sitting with all the people he just fired ( not knowing any of them of course ) and to see a TV audience and the world come to find out through questioning that there was Age Discrimination AND that most if not all laid off are actually extremely smart and capable for other Jobs they supposedly have open - and all they received were cowardly FedEx packages forcing everyone to sign a severance agreement under duress, be nice to show the IQ's of the people, the affected families, and how much deeper this all goes after many years of service destroying lives without flinching - Charlie Rose or PBS News Hour or CNN come to mind for this - for O management you never knew me but I worked my a-- off for you for years - thanks a lot, sleep well, and don't let your conscious get to you at all -

I'd LOVE to see this! My husband from HP would LOVE to see this!
Hey, I totally agree, since I was wacked last year ( in June ) and I signed the agreement, but this round of layoff's were totally like the last.. Age Discrimination. Just remember folks even though you signed the agreement, my lawyer said "ALL CONTRACTS WERE MADE TO BE BROKEN". I am pursuing a class action suit. Heck I had 27 years in when I got wacked, in the wake of cheap, no industry knowledge College kids....
I don't think it is age discrimination. Older employees make too much money, so they can hire a kid or H1 for half the price. Don't get me wrong, Oracle management are a-holes, but the layoff are all about money.
No layoffs, he said on cnbc a few weeks ago.
Ha ha ha - do one better like the "blind date" and it's an EX spouse who got tossed earlier... "blind interviews" wow Mark says, he or she sounds perfect! only to find out it was one his EX's as well RIF'ed just the past month - like hellooo? What was I thinking ...? Right there in TV - lol, sitting here reviewing my FedEx package - very threatening , why not just say we will keep your checks flowing and benefits coming for 2 months, what's with all this last day and benefits end tonight kind of crap? Who writes such evil worded documents? I worked there for 5 years and I didn't so much as treat you this way - anyway "blind dates / interviews" with MH... its the way to go...
Agree with you, but unfortunately nothing can be done. Happening everywhere in corporate America. Read somewhere ex HP employees filed class action lawsuit after lay off, not sure what can of that . Yes managers here seemed to take the way of layoff so they can hire younger employees or get more headcount in IDC where 90% of people produce low quality work. At this point just regret not leaving earlier .
