In their employee emails and internal hype, they are always talking about "amazon"...."amazon, amazon, amazon"....Lowe's has roughly 1700 stores (warehouses) nationwide, compared to amazons 97 warehouses.
Lowe's wants to BE just like amazon. But cutting staff, hiring part-timers who don't give two S#!ts about lowe's, losing the equivalent of thousands of years of knowledge & experience through layoffs, while simultaneously failing to invest in actual working, efficient technology.....is all going to push Home Depot higher and further weaken Lowe's marketshare.
I remember when Sears started their "softer side of sears" campaign. It failed and it bankrupted the company. Just like Sears, Lowe's has people running the company who are more interested in the stock price, divdend and growth, than in providing actual "boots on the ground, real life customer service and sales".
