Pleading ignorance to the law is not a defense. They played dumb and profited from not reporting losses therefore skewing the profit numbers. Knowing as soon as reports were made public, top executives sold hefty portions of stock while it was still worth a considerable amount more than it is worth now. For the family and top executives/ crooks to infuse $300,000,000.00 into the company to show financial strength was more like a frantic "Buy your way out of jail free" card. The employees and minions at AmTrust are clueless. Low wages with no gain from management shenanigans could have also cost their jobs to boot! How's that for pouring salt on the wound! These are not fantasies dreamed up by short sellers trying to make a profit from the demise of AmTrust. From losses incurred by investors due to misrepresentation of accounting, it will be interesting to see what may come of the class action lawsuits.

These crooks go back to the late nineties when they all almost went to jail (courtesy of the Ohio Insurance Commissioner) for running the prior insurance company the all worked for into the ground ... the big laugh is selling their “software” to General for 200,000,000 last fall. What insurance software sells for 200,000,000 when plenty of products exist that are better built and have more users than Amtrust???
Their fraud is catching up to them and of course little guy that suffers as they had a mass layoff last week eliminating 100 technical people.
Cash infusion and dividends at regulators request? Who cares? Class Action Lawsuits are dismissed and stocks are slowly back in the green! Let's make money!

Acquisitions? The large sell of a big money maker makes it look like they are robbing Peter to pay Paul. Kudos to the narrative team sugar coating it. The PR team is on top of their game!
The complete removal of Pipoly/Saks influence on direction and management would certainly speak volumes for cleaning up a reputatation of questionable business practices and history.
