After almost a year at EQT, yes, absolutely. These people wouldn't have cut it at Rice. Barely know what hard work is.

Rice's entire history is growing a company right under EQT's nose. I'd never be rude enough to say we run circles around others, but you're really foolish to be that dismissive. We're not all true believers who only have a job a because we #bleedblue and were in the right place at the right time. Plenty actually have industry experience outside Rice and have worked for other operators. EQT should use this as a an opportunity to ditch their dead weight as well. Every company's got some.

This is so funny! Most Rice employees are way ahead of their peers and will run circles arond EQT people. Anyone that says other wise has never delt with the third parties. Gulfport, CNX, Asent, XTO, Chesapeake, etc are all a mess!!!!

Although it is a shame to see another Marcellus company disappear, and a few decent people lose there jobs R.I.C.E. employees had to be blind not to see this coming.

I mean there has rarely been a company out there with so much smoke blown up there rears on such a regular basis.

The entire outfits popularity contest got started by a bunch of cryptozoologists and comic book dorks naming their wells, weight lifters and frat boy junior level recruits spreading the word of how massive there openers where at bars, and signing on a bunch of worthless hillbilly environmental and engineering consultants to spread the word about how sweet their pick-up trucks were around West Virginia so the DEP would leave them alone.

Somehow this all snowballed into a massively popular name that everyone thought they wanted to be part of, including investors that roded things right up till the Rice Boys couldn't hold back the Oh Face any longer... Skeeeeeeeeeet....

You all got lucky. Take your shiny Rice resumé and move on. S---ers.

It was a good run of a few years. Time to move on down the road.

I will do the interview and see what happens. With Rice and Noble closing the doors in Appalachia this year there are going to be a lot of resumes flooding the market. Not a lot of job openings in the local industry like the past.

It's not cheaper to keep you for a year than pay you a severance. In fact it's probably half the cost to pay you a severance and cut you loose.

EQT is making a turn for the better, you'd be a fool to not take an opportunity to work for the now largest natural gas producer in the USA.

They owned 15% equity..too much $$$ to pass up. Will learn from this lesson.

Question. Do you have the option of severance if you are offered at job at EQT?

I am offered a job at EQT with same salary, same position. If I turn it down, do I lose my chance at severance?

Exactly! The party is over. I am not interviewing w EQT and instead taking the severance. I have heard the awful stories of working for EQT. No thanks. I will take my chances and enjoy some time off while I start a new chapter in my career.

Would not be suprised, they keep us for one year and then cut us loose. Cheaper to retain us for one year than offer us severance. Just a thought. At this point, my mind is reeling.

Hit the nail on the head about egos at rice energy! Former employee here that left. Amazing the egos those people have there but yet a lot of them don't know what they're doing! Majority of managers are clueless and came from consulting backgrounds. Same with most that worked under them. Rice needed warm bodies and they got them. Just talk to any service provider that did stuff for Rice about their employees.

Truer words have never been spoken! The Rice boys lied to all of us! They kept telling us to ignore the rumors. We are not selling. We are here for the long term. What a bunch of crap. This millenial just learned a huge lesson - never trust management! Now I wait to see if I can get a job at EQT or take the severance.

It will be okay. First, let me add that I've never worked at EQT but know many people there. For the people who end up as EQT employees, EQT offers a lot of benefits, industry competitive salaries, and flexible work schedules. For those who don't - the industry is staffing up and there are jobs out there. If you can't take another minute of O&G, there are lots of skills that are transferable to other industries. Check out Crown Castle in Southpointe.

Yes. There will be severance for those that don't get a job with EQT. This just s---s! I heard EQT is awful to work for. Plus it won't be the same. Most at rice are young in their 20s like me. We were living on top of the world.
