Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Trust yourself, not DXC

I jumped from the sinking ship last year, now working for a company that cares about its employees. There are plenty of opportunities out there, just be confident in your abilities and you will find yourself employed by one of the many employee friendly corporations that are out there.

Lots of jobs for developers and other technical jobs in Detroit, for those willing to commute downtown - paying well, too.

I'm happy where I am now (a considerable pay increase from my days at HPE, regular raises and bonuses now and job security), but I still get recruiters begging me to come to their events or talk to other employers.

If you can't find jobs where you are at, move. I know that is easier said than done, but at least be willing to consider it. Even so, I was presented with a few nice opportunities to work remote, particularly on government gigs; I passed because I didn't want to work "on contract" and deal with that grind any more.

There are jobs but you may have to relocate. Some markets are terrible and tech wants young and cheap. So go where neither of those conditions apply. It's like gentrification-the market has spoken.

There are no jobs out there. You are fooling yourself if you think there is a healthy job market out there. Most people drop out out of job search, and the gov stop counting them. That's why the unemployment numbers are so low, but people just give up as there are no jobs.

Agree with all the comments.. if an opportunity presents itself.. jump from this sinking ship. I've got 17 years under my belt, and I no longer feel that sense of pride in anything that I do. Why should we anymore- when we know were just a target to make the stocks look good.

From what I it is indeed a race to the bottom. Do suit yourself and jump when the opportunity arises. I use to care and belief in the company....HP...HPE.......DXC......but not any more. The company doesn't give a sh-- about you if you are technical. Lost cost or bust!.........and then bust ironically.
