Thread regarding Advance Auto Parts Inc. layoffs

Laying off 900 regionals, district managers and outside salesmen?

I think that you guys are beefing up your profits to sell. But that's just me.

Oh and how can you talk up all of your upper management team when you are laying off 900 regionals, district managers and outside salesmen?

Obviously your company doesn't share your views of its people. If I were you I would call O'Reilly and ask for a chance with a much better off company and one with a much much better culture.

Cutting 900 employees does not sound like a culture fit most job seekers would be attracted to.

I can confirm all members of management RVP down are losing car privileges. In addition, factory reps are losing their car as well. Interesting time indeed.

I decided to leave advance several years ago and went to O'reilly Auto. Best thing I did. Customer service is top priority. I enjoy being able to help my customers. They make sure we have what is needed to succeed.

Does anyone know the real numbers of layoffs? On Monday 146 corporate individuals were let go - but no one seems to know the field numbers. The rumors put the field cuts between 9,000 and 20,000. Those numbers are hard to imagine. It's obvious the company is not going to reveal any numbers or a strategy. We do know that the company is going from 4 areas to 2 areas - thoughts are the leadership for those 2 eliminated areas (Divisional President and downward) are being eliminated or at least severely cut back - but again no real understanding of the numbers or impacts. Additionally, it has been rumored that all company provided cell phones and company cars are being eliminated - is this true?

Make sure you don't go to work in the VA region for OReilly. They have the same mentality of fire fire fire. They manage by threats and fear.

You are correct ! I was a long time team member for ADV when they truly believed that the best part was their people. Over time they lost that and the true value to culture . Made the decision to sit down with RM & DM for Oreilly Auto Parts and let me say it was no mistake. Talked about culture and career took interest in where I wanted to go. 8 years and counting and the words that were spoken during that interview still hold true today. Difference is I know have the opportunity to pass it on to team members . So you want to work for a leading company with great culture values come to Oreilly Auto Parts and be apart of something great!!
