You are all on here complaining about your job. Find a new one! College in general is in a tough spot right now and enrollments are down. Of course when enrollments are low, jobs are eliminated. It is business 101! Every corporation experiences restructuring and layoffs and are sometimes bought out. So you liberals needs to see outside your bubble and gain some more skills. By skills I mean, be business smart. There is a business side outside every classroom including major Universities. EDMC has been faced with hard times due to poor leadership as well as thousands of other companies including state colleges. Move on people and quit acting like EDMC owes you something. You work an hour, you get paid an hour! No one owes you anything.

LOL, this isn't a praise EDMC site. It's specifically set up for folks to inform others of impending or current layoffs, so why would expect any positivity here. I think you are in the wrong place. Now, in terms of EDMC owing us something? When you spend a decade of your life spending every free minute teaching and doing service for them and then the fire you and give you less than two weeks notice before the door hits you in the a--, then, yes, they do owe us something and it's called respect, morals, and ethics. None of which are displayed by any administrators at EDMC. It's not a college/university. It's a business plain and simple. They are about making money, not educating students. We, as staff and faculty are but pawns in their money making scheme. They are not like not-for-profit schools at all, as those typically do care about their students, faculty, and staff. Be not fooled that any of us did anything of value for EDMC. Admit that this was never anything more than a way to pay the bills. ...and why you are calling folks liberals is beyond me. Is a fired conservative any less angry at such treatment. In fact, I'm more conservative than anything else, so your logic regarding liberalism and complaining really doesn't make any more sense in this group then your post in general. Sounds like you still have a job, so enjoy the pay while you can, but when they fire you and show no remorse or make no attempts to argue for you to stay or your supervisors don't even answer your phone calls the day you are fired, then come back and talk to us. I only hope that either the Dream Foundation deal falls thru and the whole place crashes and burns or that when the Dream Foundation does take over that all the admins who hung on to their jobs while the faculty and staff that really gave a crap were fired will all have Karma catch up to them. This place is bad for anyone with a good soul. Get out now if you are still here.
