They continue each week in small dosages, one very dear friend and mentor of mine just today who is a bigger name with the company. He was talented, hard working, and pretty selfless in so many ways. A great leader whose area was only increasing in profit year after year. Just shows how ridiculous these people are who are making these decisions. Stop shopping at Walmart. I'm a current associate and I don't anymore.

I would expect that Walmart has a PR crew who is keeping this off the local channels. Also, 20-100 people at a time is not a big enough story to hit the national news radar. I'm sure that's part of why they are doing it in waves.
The news is always reporting on sears and even if they close a mere 20 stores wonder why the news hasn't picked up in Walmart's actions?
Why not cut back on all the money they spend on board members? Wtf do these people actually do to benefit company except change color of a sign so theyou can spend billion dollars to get that color of sign in all stores and destroy last month's design
No severance? Were they fired for cause?

Home Office associates were let go last week (no severance or unemployment for these) and more to be let go next week. It is not ending. July is coming and EOQ signals a bigger layoff. It's a few here and a few there so there is no news. That is the entire point of doing it this way.
If he was a larger name with the company, it seems like that would layoff would have been news. Sorry, not buying this one. Besides are you field or home office assoc.?
Sad. And pretty messed up.
