This is a complete mid characterization. Despite the auto loss, SF still turned a profit and grew surplus by $5B. SF spent 1.4B on three new massive hubs in Tempe, Dallas and Atlanta and has been planning for years to move away from small regional offices to these centralized locations. Notice these offices won't all close until 2022. Had nothing to do with the loss.
