Layoffs in Cloud Operations

They stole all my stock options, gave me 2 hours to spend my FSA YTD, left you facing not having health insurance next day nor pay and nothing else unless you sign an agreement. How much easier to say hey man, everything rides as is for 2 months but no - they have to act as mental and soul-killing assasins. I met a lot of really good people who just end up unable to effect change and end up in a messed up head space. Hope they don't f up Java or other great technologies they are responsible for. I'm going to need more time to purge myself of all the frustration and anger I accrued over the many long years of stagnation.

Classic Oracle. IF you work at home, you get a phone call in the morning , Fedex package by lunchtime and sign it by COB else no package.

Today? Sorry to hear. Makes little sense if we are planning to a actually grow in Cloud...

My understanding:

You "only" lost options/RSUs that hadn't vested yet. You have three months to exercise those options that have vested.

You can retroactively sign up for Cobra if in a week you have a medical emergency. It look into ACA; might be a lot cheaper.

And yes, walking people out at a moment's notice is not humane. And very demotivating for the survivors, too, who then have to pick up the pieces that didn't get transferred properly. Very different in other countries.
