More Square Pegs in Round Holes

How about management gets a grip and realizes that some people just shouldn't be in the leadership roles they are in. Just because they were a director in a previous role does not mean they can direct in any department. You would have thought SCM would have learnt their lesson. It's so bad I feel sorry for the person that is being put in this position. I am so happy I left that burning house of a group a long time ago.

Management needs to get a grip before the entire house crumbles. Maybe learning what Leadership is all about would help. Putting the right individuals in positions to lead based on abilities has gone by the wayside. Instead, it seems to be based on looks, Anadarko experience, or ability to smooth talk. If a person has had to be moved to 3 or 4 positions in that many years, maybe it should tell you there is a problem. But hey - if a company wants to keep the people who look good doing nothing, all the quality people including myself, will find jobs elsewhere.

Chesapeake has been known for their assets - which historically included it's people. At this point, I would consider most of it's people, more of a liability than an asset. Executive management has a vision - a solid middle management who can implement that vision is non-existent.

True story. While discussing what would be released to employees regarding the "retirement" of the Director of Operations (Leonard) the baffoon of a VP forwards the entire discussion chain of emails, including his final draft email to ALL MidCon employees. So we are now under the supervision of someone who can't properly operate email....yay

Management has done an amazing job!! They have layed off and sold most of the company and still hasn't satisfied Wall Street. They do have some decent money managers but no one left to actually grow a E&P company. That's why they continually underperform their peers.

Not to worry! I'm positive they have a highly qualified candidate from Anadarko that can fill the position!

Maybe I should try and get Anadarko on my resume so then I'd have a chance of moving up at chesapeake. Total bull $hit
