Giving away a 65" LCD TV really made me make decision - I am getting VMAX with Unity. Too bad I am not getting Alineware gaming console with. May I suggest a deal sweetener - if I get VMAX 850 or larger can I get Alienware console as well?
Your post:
"Trolls keep posting this kind of stuff because they can't go out and sell their own storage. Dell is going to be fine. The cloud thing is totally going away in a couple of years, we are sticking to helping customers build on-prem clouds because that is where the money is going. We can just keep selling laptops/desktops along with servers and storage. We have a new deal coming out giving away 65" LCD TVs with each VMAX/Unity purchase. If you buy an XtremIO v2 you will get an alienware gaming system."
This is the most ridiculous post I've read. Companies are rushing to the cloud, knowing that on-prem clouds are unsupportable in their business models, and these services can be supported by cloud specialists at a fraction of the cost (think MSFT, Amazon Webservices, etc). And I hope that your comments about giving away TV's etc was meant to be a joke, since that is an insult to the intelligence of everyone reading this.
Poor performance is at mangers discretion, everything is manipulated. Managers are destroying Dell.
Jeff B, Goulden, Read, Marius ...... someone please look in to it.

Cut to poor preforming products is one thing
Massive layoffs fake news
Anyone with true insight would not post it here"
Ok Mr Trump, anything you say Mr Trump! Can I have another glass of the great koolaide we've been getting lately?
My manager has said to keep this on the "down low" (lol ya right) that there will be huge cuts. At least in engineering, there's an initiative to get 40% of the workforce in "cost advantageous" (read: China, Ireland, Philippines, etc) regions.
@NlvHkGH-xax I was an EMC employee and worked there for almost two decades. I gave up a lot of family time over the decades and now I feel useless. I'm going to lose everything. Thanks.
August is the beginning of 2nd half, expect BIG, BIG, BIG changes in staffing and compensation starting then. Culling of the herd will take place mid-July as those being cut will get notification that they have 2 weeks to find a new position internally or be separated if they can't. Coincidentally there will be a hiring freeze in place so unless you have deep connections to upper management there will be zero internal slots available.
Now that's funny @NlvHkGH-1lxu. What next? Santa is real too?!

Chop chop time in storage this quarter. Jeff B announced sales dipping down 17%. Rumor mill says list is prepared and under review this week by Goulden. There is product rationalization the big wigs in storage are planning. All of storage leadership is in Hopkinton after the dell emc world and deciding on where and whom to chop chop.
It will be spread out like last year's, from what I'm told.
Many longtime employees need to be cut across the board. I heard they will be resurfacing the early retirement package for those that qualify.
Hopefully the employees that are offered the generous option will take the package.
We need a reboot and we're carrying too many archaic mindsets that can't - or won't - evolve with the times. Sad, but true.
Talk to the Dell Sales guys and they will give you a glimpse of how many are on PIPs to provide an insight.
