Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Getting old, Sperry management team getting younger

Is it just me getting old or are the management teams getting younger ?

I'm not saying it's a bad thing , just a bit rare to see these gentlemen in the corporate building in their nice little offices when they are you enough to be my son.

I'm just jealous, I was never given the chance. Not sure what they have that I don't.

If Sperry was so great why did it get acquired? Lol. Good there is someone from GE there now, cos Halliburton could learn a thing or two from GE on that topic.

Perhaps we should get rid of the old negative hands and replace them with modern intelligent ones! You know the ones that sit out in the open and complain all day within earshot of everyone.

The takeaway. Get rid of the GE interlopers, who know nothing of the internal workings, and promote from within, and stop this continuing practice of one step forward two steps back.

HAL is rudderless and heading for the rocks. Time to get off this mess.

Your young gentleman initiated a game changer today. I maybe reading it wrong but I believe I know who you are talking about. Good on the guy , right on! Onwards we go, he has a vibe about him that makes us believe there is light at the end of this tunnel.

You are just now realizing this? From the very beginning, Sperry had the absolute best multilateral tools and downhole equipment, but right after Halliburton bought them, and installed Halliburton's own mis-management team, the quality started going downhill, and the downhole malfunctions increased.

The Halliburton way is to put the azz-kissers, who know absolutely nothing about the department that they are promoted to manage, and then they run it into the ground, while being handsomely rewarded, and blame the employees under them for THEIR failures.

Halliburton then invents a few new buzzwords and 'processes', to punish the field hand, and declares that "all is well'

It isn't just a Sperry problem. My colleagues in another large oilfield service company say the same is happening there also. They are YES-men and don't question whether the product sold is best for the customers. Just don't disagree with anyone above you and you move up the ladder. The end result is lower quality of service to the customer.

it was obvious with the layoffs they want to build with women and youth, downturn opened the door.

don't waste your time trying to reason it out. Sperry is and always has been dysfunctional. Some things just don't make sense.
