It sounds like OP does understand the goal is profit - he/she mentions it right off the bat.
The frustration seems to be in response to her/his supervisor trying to spin it as if it were a matter of ethics, which of course is silly- this is a health insurance company. We can all be honest and admit that ethics / intregrity do no factor in.
I'm fortunate in that my coach is very refreshing- she does not engage in spin and just tells us this is all about money. No need for false narrative.
You really sound stupid. Case management is to save money and there is nothing wrong with that. You work for a publicly traded for profit company, not a charity. Profit isn't a bad thing and prioritizing calls to the highest severity is the right thing to do. You can be upset but don't be so uniformed.
