Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

DXC as it stands is a train wreck.

I've worked for HP, HPE and now DXC and have been in redundancy pools for years. Attended a town hall meeting with this Wilson guy. Patronising doesn't even come close to how he conducted himself. The whole chucking sweets thing made more than 400 people cringe in unison.

He's been brought in to basically slash all jobs in UK and Ireland... and I'm sure there are are other clones out there who are gonna do the same across all of Europe. DXC is gonna be ground into the dirt in Europe. They will attempt to keep the business running via middle eastern establishments because it will save them money i.e they pay them buttons.

The company as it stands is a train wreck. This man makes my skin crawl. His persistence on how he's telling the truth gives me the creeps. He epitomizes up all that is wrong with HPE, HP and now DXC. Managements complete ignorance of the potential they have. Upper management have no clue of the power of the talent which exists beneath their ivory towers.

The creation of DXC is all about getting rid of all the employees and dumping potentially lucrative contracts so that the stock/share holders can benefit from liquidation of the company. The managers such as the one indicated in this post are only interested in them selves and their cronies .It's painfully obvious that the likes of Wilson will be accepting huge retirement packages in the next few years.

I've never worked in such a place where the disrespect and mistrust of management has been so high. The whole philosophy surrounding he current restructuring is almost comical in it's transparency. If you work for DXC you will not be working for them in a few years time... at least in Europe anyway.

I suggest that if you can obtain a redundancy package from them you should take is asap as they will undoubtedly change the T&Cs for legacy employees from HPE/HP to save money. DXC don't place any value on the talent they employ.

Management has no regard or respect for their employees. The end game is to dissolve the company no matter who you are. The likes of this character, Wilson, will do very well financially out of the position they hold. The money is in the bank as far as they are concerned. Never trust anyone who feel the need to constantly tell you they are being honest.

DXC is a train wreck waiting to happen and if you are there when it happens you're gonna be crushed.

Throwing sweets at the minions (employees) is just so incredibly patronising especially when he was basically telling them that they are screwed and will be jobless in the next 12 months.

High five Mr Wilson. Right on. Nice one. Cool guy!! NOT!

Throwing sweets to the crowd, now I that can be working on the subconscious of trying to keep the crowd "sweet", until the top brass fire most western (expensive) workers. The stopping at 17dollars an hour is a joke living in London, my rent is 1200 pounds per month so I would need to work 91 hours a month(2.5 weeks) just to cover the rent!

I don't see any social responsibility every mentioned, and doing business in countries say the UK, it isn't to much to ask that you give the locals who have the requisite skills the opportunity of work. If all jobs go to cheap countries with weak labour laws, then who in the UK will have any money left to purchase DXC services ! The future will be corporate responsibility, on-shoring and getting local people o do local tasks is really an anti globalist movement. DXC can ignore these pressures to squeeze every ounce of profitability out of cheap /low regulation labour and sell services based at expensive local rates, but that will not wash soon.

All the best Frogman, I hope it works out for you but with that attitude it surely will!

For me, its a job, that is all it has ever been.... a means to an end. I work to survive but I am not defined by my work. I have so much more outside of DXC or any other company for that matter. When I leave DXC I will get another job and it can only get better. Either way I will survive and I will enjoy my survival no matter where I am. I know whats important in life. I will miss the people I have worked with but I look forward to meeting so many more. The only thing we can be certain of is change, its how we adapt to that change which can cause our suffering. Onward and upward!!!!!

Spot on Frogman! I was turfed out at the end of March, couldn't be happier, the crap management that believe all the rubbish that's comes from on high did me a favour.

Best of luck to all at DXC that need to be there, I hope you can find a way through, and get what you need out of the job.

Frogman, I couldn't have articulated it better.

"...greater spiritual hunger. We are quick to judge, but too slow to love..."

Retirement is better than this mess. Boy do I realize a lot about life, work and family now.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we have lost sight of dreaming and achieving our own purpose in life. Today we have bigger houses, but smaller families. Better technology, but worse connection. Fully-loaded cars, but empty churches. More education, but less common sense. We strive for peace, but violence is rampant. We have more kinds of food, but a greater spiritual hunger. We are quick to judge, but slow to love. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. Something is wrong, isn't it? This company is the epitome of whats wrong in corporate USA. DXC did not ruin me it made me a hell of a lot better. The people did not bring me down it was the management style and greed that did. I am living the dream.

EDS, HP, HPE and DXC, for me, the first 12 years with EDS were good, a little shakey towards the end and the HP takeover, but the real rot started as soon as HP took the helm.

Shocking management and ethos, never gave a toss about employees even though HP was always in profit, zero career progression, zero pay rises, it went on and on.

Glad I'm out. Good luck to all of you left trying to make a living.
