Thread regarding Noble Energy Inc. layoffs

I don't blame Noble.

Nobody is coming to Canonsburg. The Marcellus folks in Canonsburg are toast! Office closing down. If y'all don't give us an opportunity in Houston or elsewhere, then we have an outside shot of getting a job with the new outfit in Parkersburg, WV.

It's 2 hours away and I will have to move closer and most likely have to take a pay-cut. Otherwise, I take the severance and hang my shingle out for a new job.

I don't blame Noble. It's not personal. It's just business and they are not the only company here in the Marcellus/Utica play to sell their asset. Just bad luck for me.

Once people who had any real talent and ethics get in the company now it isn't long until they see what a bogus organization it and its management is now. It is exact opposite of what it used to be. Some employees held on until they could leave and some had hopes it would change. Some of the ones who could stomach it and keep their mouths shut are still there. Others could not and they were let go. Most other corporations are no better now. This type executive and management team just goes from one company to another doing the same thing and spreading the greed disease. Ethical corporations looking out for shareholders, the bottom line profits, or even employees are a thing of the past

The old CEO bought it, then retired. He's on the board of Quantum Energy, the financial backers for the purchase. He wanted it back. He made a call and he's getting it back

For management only: big bonus to make a bad deal and big bonus to dispose of it at a big loss. Sounds like Enron.

I definitely blame management. It's incompetence run amuck! How these morons keep their jobs in beyond me.

What a tool you are! As the last poster said this is completely managements fault. Management was responsible for the poor decision to invest in the Marcellus, mismanaging operations and selling at a huge loss. What price did they pay for that? Nothing. Instead they "earned" massive bonuses and stock options all along the way. You'll likely lose your job and health insurance and they'll get another bonus. That's not bad luck, that's "by design".

I do blame Noble management completely. They set out to delude stockholders for top management benefit. No regard for employees or shareholders at all. Selfish and incompetent people and a pitiful board.
