Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Only $100M.... tooooo bad

So Avaya networking was worth only $100M. Isn't it too bad? And there were no bidders at all. This clearly shows how poor was Avaya's networking business. And now I am pretty convinced that other products UC and CC of Avaya would follow the same. The brand Avaya is just illusion and it has no reputation in the market. This bad deal would definitely lead Avaya to Chapter 7.

"Extreme got a bargain, look at the revenue streams for this product", this can be true if they run it properly, next years R&D budget will be telling at 200M annual revenue (need to get back to that) it will be less than it is now, but Marketing, Training and support can all be lower cost in a pure play networking company.

Extreme got a bargain, look at the revenue streams for this product, as long as Extreme remove the Avaya people that have been running this since the Nortel days they should be able to do great things.

....and the negative trolls are still at work. It appears that you really want chapter 7. Are you also a doomsday group member planning for it all your life?

True, this will lead to more layoffs at Avaya.

I believe there was only 68$ cash rest is assumed liabilities and paying severance for the ones Extreme doesn't want. It was more about getting rid of a money losing division and cleaning up the remainder to sell as one entity (dont lose offers in case someone didnt want to buy Avaya CC if networking is part). No new innovation since Nortel SPB came from Carrier and CTO offices not Enterprise which Avaya bought not surprised by the purchase price.

This bad deal would lead to more head count reduction to increase per employee profit.
