Syntel Layoff 2017

Syntel is laying of employees in 2017. No criteria for Layoff. Already.laid off people are talking with respective state governments. They agreed to take this issue. So trouble for management if they won't take back sacked employees..Govts. are not happy in forced resignation, soon syntel management is going to face the law.

The CEO himself is writing to employees that it is the difficult time. He had added that two big accounts are ramped down. The open secret of major ramp down on AMEX account. We can say total Banking vertical gone. other accounts In other verticals are in turbulent situation always in client radar. Allstate slowly phased out the billability from the time it opened its captive center. Mostly remaining billability will go by this year end, for sure it will go by next year end. No new business in insurance. All other accounts are very smaller ones. Only logistics is doing well and because of Trump they may assign the jobs to Americans. Even if Syntel want to retain they have to hire Americans because of that they have to cut the offshore strength in the ratio of 1:4. So there is no much opportunities. Now we need world's best marketing guys to bring the business, but if you see the current People are settled well without hitting the core. And client partners and engagement directors are Green-card holders and just running the days to get the salary and really not worried about bringing business. Syntel should think whether these people are worth because it is not question of money but it's the matter of bringing business, better throw them out. Now no none of the VPs are capable of bringing 100 million USD worth of business then why Bharat is retaining them. Without them also the revenue will be 800 to 850 million USD, then why Syntel is taking pain in keeping these BUH. Even CXOs also not required. Bharat think through......

Syntel do have the projects in IT.Very poor management. Still they hiring the IT staff without the project even not aware of the skill set required for the upcoming or pipeline project.Management don't care about the new or old employee carrier

The company strength is 25000 and so it should be 3500 to 4000 employees are support staff. Almost all DDs and DMs may come here under non-billable.. How many VPs, DDs, DMs in Syntel? What is the amount of business they are bringing in. what is the target they are achieving, Are the people in similar capacity in Infy,Wipro,TCS,CTS,CapGemini,TechM are achieving more than this or less than this ? Because these guys getting same salary like other company guys. how many account and billability these guys are able to retain, if we publish the Dashboard then we can cleanup these guys who are sinking the Syntel.

Syntel has a support staff of almost 15%± employees, this is the cost center and not a revenue earning centre. As such, syntel has almost 2000± nos. Of staff in IS, QA, Admin, Travel, ODC, QA, training, PDAC etc.etc.. These are not billable staff only doing Internal work and work to trouble the billable staff...

It's high time the VP's of Syntel start showing some metal and bring in business..if the VP and BU head cannot bring business then they should voluntarily quit the company.....

If people sitting at top level are not able to bring projects then why they are not been laid off.Its because of them Syntel is loosing projects.

Syntel has laid off almost 800+ employees in past month of May 2017. The company is oversized due to its non performing Sales, BU Heads, DD's and other non skilled project admin related DM's, PM's and support staff.

Syntel had a very robust client base, but it's weaken because of current CEO Mr. khanna. Khanna is non performance has costed hundreds of innocents to lose their jobs. HR is still keen on laying off only the Band 2 and Band 3 level employees and Not the higher band 5+ guys...

The company seriously needs a Miracle, a true leader to restore Syntel back to its Glorious days...

The current interim CEO Mr. Story teller is not eligible for this role since he has not earned it thru his hard work, but only as a replacement for ex-CEO. This is a caution to all those in IT who think that just by acquiring a high position you can play around, doesn't hold true. As this guy is capable of performing basic tasks of CEO and taken this role out of nowhere.

Other issues are as said here by other folks are that higher level employees are not getting business and blaming lower level employees for business loss.

The company needs to bring in a powerful CEO, like sikka or NR to be able to stand again....

This is the company where VIce President is reporting to VIce President, Delivery Director is reporting to Delivery Director with same band and grade, Delivery Manager reports to Delivery Manager with same band and grade, Project Manager reports to Project Manager with same band and grade, Project Leader reports to Project Leader..too many redundant positions...identified guys for layoff asked to search the project on their own within 1 or 2 days then what PDAC(a so called dept. for project allocation) is doing. Here also OM3 reports to OM3... Dissolve PDAC and recruitment team...Whether vice chairman looking into this...if syntel remove this redundant positions at all level then they can have limited and needed people in buffer or bench to fulfill the billable positions on demand...when terminated CEO was there, none of the BUH were not in India..They were forced to ran at onsite to bring business, now this year they sitting at offshore by leveraging the friendship with current CEO, it won't benefit company and investors. Investors questioned them, otherwise it won't help company and employees. And those who want acquire this company, the entire set up Syndicate should go, then only you can reduce the loss, after take over

Syntel is laying off employees and it's started from May 5 2017 till present 2 June 2017.

Syntel HR is following a very systematic planned layoff with commando like trained HR folks...

The company is in a bad financial state, with its interim CEO totally under pressure for his non performance..

The company is loosing existing business thanks to horrible sales team, heavyweight VP's, BU heads, DD's, and other mgmt. Employees who have not done their job.

The company is now poised at a resource categorization of 30% high level mgmt employees, 20% KPO employees, 15% support teams, and the rest are the real hardworking average paid high technically skilled employees.

At this juncture, Syntel has become a top heavy company with an inverted Pyramid like ORG structure. The company historically has been giving weightage to billing and team size, rather than skill, innovation or value-based customer appreciation. This has hampered the company in many ways and with its internal bureaucracy and redtape processes it's going down the drain...

God bless you guys...
