Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oracle will be a $70 stock shortly

Oracle makes money and profit....

There are massive profits to be made from the cloud it doesn't matter if they s--- or not. They will continue to acquire and I suspect a very big acquisition in the cards. They have the data, the hardware, the apps, the database, the data centers... It's recurring revenue YOY and to be honest people really don't matter that much after the acquisition. Key people do but it's software and even it takes a month to solve a simple problem eventually it gets solved. No difference then Amazon or CRM or MSFT. Look at MSFT stock price it's only a matter of time before ORCL catches up. They make money period and unfortunate that's what it's all about.

Like to see LE, MH, SC offer something to the employee's for the years of service they have for Oracle. If you made it say 10+, 15+ , 20+ etc. Years instead of a $200 American Express Card offer something substantial like Restricted Stock Options or cash or do something. A bigger piece of that pie would be nice for employee's, indeed.

LE needs an exit strategy at some point not sure how it will play out.

The valuation of steady cash flow is very low, it's like being a bond. Stock markets value growth and oracle has none, so it's a loser compared to other tech co's

Oracle has been in deeper trouble in the early nineties and after the dotcom bubble. The migration to cloud may be painful, but they're definitely in the game now, and Oracle has enough money to go through the bad years.

It won't tank no way. It's ready to hit higher highs. It's called recurring revenue and it's got a long way to run. This guy who replied takes it personal, you have to take that out of the equation. It's simple, Oracle makes money and will make money for a very long time. Regardless if you hate management or not they are profitable. Treating people unfairly is different story but it's a business and that's how it's done. At some point Amazon or Salesforce will fall out of Wall Streets love fest, don't know when but it will. LE is a smart guy I wouldn't bet against him regardless what you think of him personally.

The problem with shorting is the timeframe - the market can remain irrational for longer than you can remain solvent

short it if you think it will tank

Not happening, SFDC, MSFT, and AWS are eating oracle for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the market can clearly tell who the winners are and who the loser is. As for LE's stock, ha, he's F:ed - cannot sell without the stock crashing and holding on to a rapidly wasting asset. Serves him right ! It's been a charming ride for him and now it's coming to an end. Will the new girlfriend stay or go looking for a younger, richer guy?
