Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

What this board calls a Layoff is internally called a RE-ORG

apparently the managers are frantically handling all the terminations of the re-org today. everyone in sales who has not or is not being terminated got an email this morning inviting them to approve their territory (a tell for those not being let go)...but the link was not populated. Word is it will populate after 5 PM your respective time zone...hard to believe the system is that sophisticated. LOL. Anyway, the "re-org" (ahem, "layoffs") are in full swing today across the company. Still a lot of uncertainty about what the re-org is. Friday's team calls may shed light on this...more to come.

True to Oracle and MH form, today brought significant layoffs of IC and 1st/2d line managers, yet the real "architects" of this disaster, they call their cloud GMT strategy, blindly continue on. Apparently, they're going to have to burn through $Billions of more dollars before someone has enough with MH's lack of visionary leadership.

Customer support SaaS was hit today. Long time employees that were high performers RIFd. Checked in with US ERP sales and HCM sales this morning and heard no chatter there, all seemed fine. There were no RIFs in my org today though there were some in the recent past. I think everyone else has posted where the rest of the RIFs happened on other threads, at least any I heard about.

There is also a re-org happening for OPC under TK, multiple M5/6 being moved to different SVP's. Not sure what that means for the current cloud groups or the SVP's losing people

Several of us in the Denver office were laid off this morning. It feels weird to be let go but it's also a huge relief. I don't know anyone who enjoys working for Oracle.

Overhead two M5's talking. They heard once the re-org was complete it would be about 8,000 jobs worldwide which were RIF. Wasn't the original number less than 4,000?

yep yep - its tough on a manager to quickly pick the 3 or 4 they need to let go immediately....they don't know what to do...

So much for the naysayer and mockers, who said it was "fake news."

They are the true trolls.

It's a bloodbath at Oracle today, confirming the speculation and rumors. There is no rhyme or reason to the list of names.
