There are many GMs and VPs who need to do the walk about. Several have no idea what most of their reports do, other than what their pets tell them.

Greenlighting Mozambique will be the death of APC as we know it.

Breaker, Breaker 2017

If I was Al and gave half a darn about what's going on economically or potentially profitable...

I would unannouned leave my office and check out every single office or cubicle below me and get an honest perspective of the useless bologna talk going on.

I'd ask simple questions like, "What are you working on?", "Who are you doing it for?", "What budget or AFE is paying for your time?", "Can I see a progress report?".

I could go on and on.

Magic Rat, over and out

@"a former share holder"

You do realize that some of those supposedly negatives are the assets that are keeping Anadarko alive? Or, were later sold at a profit. Or are currently being leveraged... Hackett's line of sight was far longer term than the current poster child of mismanagement.

If Hillary admitted she was Satan it would still be a better option than Dump. You seriously have to question the intelligence level of those that voted for the Great Orange One.

Come on, Hackett sold all the APC GOM shelf properties in 2004. Lost revenue in the first year alone almost $1 Billion. Hackett spent $125 million on constructing an LNG plant in Canada before he realized all the LNG was under contract. Sold the plant for $0.10 on the dollar. Hackett paid a 40% premium for Kerr McGee before the $5.2 Billion cleanup. Hackett paid a 50% premium for Western Gas CBM in the Powder River Basin. Again, sold for pennies on the dollar. The Kerr McGee acquisition required $6 gas and $60 oil to be economic. The Western Gas acquisition required $6 gas to be economic. I know hind sight is 20/20 but as a CEO making $25 million annually, you need to have better vision than Hackett showed.

Hackett leaving was the downfall of APC. They need to fire the CEO now. The guy is a Hillary supporter anyways. I guarantee you people are constantly looking for a way out and a company change. Attitudes are awful still and a CEO that continues to get huge raises while everyone else is lucky to get a raise is awful. Once people wise up and start figuring out the directors (a few of them) just play favorites when it comes to raises more will leave.

i think the stock price reflects the investor community's view of his skills, "stock". so while he might not be fired, the external community clearly thinks his performance is poor. they are voting with their dollars and it's an exit strategy.

there has been no good news from the mouthpieces in quite some... but i bet the old exercise club is happily meeting every morning singing his praise.
