Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Liquidation is imminent

Liquidation is coming. Soon. Creditors are done negotiating. All the flowery, positive sounding rhetoric from Corporate is just nonsense so people will keep working. The "leaders" should at least have enough respect for all the loyal Avaya people to tell them the truth. Lying week after week and spinning it positively is not doing anyone any good. Of course, the leadership is corrupt and morally bankrupt, so this will never happen. They're simply hanging on as long as possible to keep milking the company for fat paychecks and bonuses. Does anyone really think these idiots are doing a good job of managing this? Let's be real. Have you seen the bills coming in for all the professional help with bankruptcy? It's tens of millions of dollars and counting. Honestly, a few wild monkeys could do the same job for a lot less. And they would probably communicate more effectively too. The company is a laughing stock and anyone who remains here is suspect.

I had to re-post this from @NUco7Tw-1fsp. I am beyond frustrated at this point, and agree with everything said completely.

I got out in March 2017. I have nothing bad to say about Avaya. I worked on the Contact Center side. They should have kept the products making money and got rid of the ones that didn't, kind of makes sense to me. I was not laid off, but I was burnt out due to our CC team being reduced by half. I didn't sign up for unpaid 10-12 hour days and I was an outsourced employee. Our Avaya badged employees were working nights and weekends to provide support with the lessened manpower on our teams. The guys that are left are loyal and the best and yes, hope to keep their jobs although the ship is sinking. The job is stressful in the first place, then add angry customers and departing co-workers to the mix piling on extra cases, something has to give...and unfortunately it was me. I wish the remaining crew all the best, I hope they land on their feet when all is said and done. The guy you talk to on the phone, please consider what he/she is going through. They are not responsible for the mismanagement going on above them.

"anyone who remains here is suspect" is an apt comment. Most of my former colleagues have now left the company and those who remain are looked at with suspicion. Why are you still there when you could be earning more elsewhere in a happier environment?

Is IP Office still an ongoing product? Google news has surprisingly little info on the topic, normally in years past there would always be some fresh marketing press releases about who has installed it, etc.

Yes I agree, all the underperformers have been fired and all the top sales people are still within Avaya.. the only reason you guys are still there is because you cannot get another job anywhere else. Smart people will take their future in their own hands and leave..

Lord Buckethead makes perfect sense, all the thousands of people who have left Avaya voluntarily and involuntarily over the past couple of years were underperformers and now that the company is no longer burdened by them, it will finally reach its potential. No matter that some of them were HRC before being laid off, Avaya is better off without them.

Pay no attention to the headlines (https://www.arnnet.com.au/article/618095/financial-woes-worsen-avaya-attempts-turnaround/), everything is going according to plan!

So nice to see that Avaya had employed so may fortune tellers. No one yet knows what the outcome of the CH 11 is going to be, least of you guys who have no clue about your own future. People don't leave organization, they leave bosses. So if you have recently left Avaya then its either a layoff (fact that you being an under-performer not being highlighted) or you hate your boss. If its the latter then tough luck, all bosses are more or less the same. So your misery is not going to end. If you have been laid off then its a huge relief. If an under performer can get a job its good news for every one else at Avaya, no matter what the outcome of CH 11, our careers are safe.

Now let me tell you why you are ranting here about things you have no clue about. You are in the habit of taking stupid decisions and then you try to emotionally justify it. This is basic human nature. SO now you have left Avaya and want to console yourself that it was not a stupid decision, so you ramble about things that you have no control over to satisfy your massive ego and tiny intellect. Good luck with that.

Here is our message to you. You have left - good riddance. Now go do your job and justify your pay to your new masters. Whatever happens in Avaya hence forth is not your concern anymore. No one knows how things will turn out and we will deal with it when it happens. So stop trying to save us from whatever your tiny brain thinks will happen and live a happy life if you can !!!

If you still insist on being the fortune teller, then let us be blissful in our ignorance.

Huge work force reductions imminent, once you emerge from CH11, a lot of you who have been keeping the boat from sinking will be let go, thanks for all your efforts, (KK and his crew will still get their ridiculous bonuses though), there will be a need to shrink the workforce to around 4000 and then you might get a buyer, but a lot depends on how they keep the creditors happy, at the minute there are very far from happy. Good luck, i got out last week.....

Let's face it - it's doomed. Just look at the revenue dip and more importantly look at the partner revenue dip (huge for some). They will look elsewhere so don't be fooled by the righteous posts - people are not looking at Avaya. I was with a customer looking for a new CC last week and they have gone down the road of ABA - anything BUT Avaya. So its see what happens. they wanted a quick CH11 - they didn't happen. So the rhetoric maybe from those that see a positive to everything but wake up and smell the dung.....if you emerge then I think you will be sold soon after. Best to find a new position now and if you cant....well then that tells another story.

Not bad my friend. You can string up words to make sentences that actually look like it means something. Impressive !!! I guess cisco finally hired someone who knows something that Trump calls "Words". You do know what they say about fighting a pig... right

"May the force be with you" !!!

Poor, delusional, kool-aide drinking s---ers who keep hanging on to any shred of hope that the Titanic will somehow pop back up out of the abyss. Do you seriously believe it must be true because KK says so? Sales crashing, customers and partners leaving is not a good sign. It's SO bad that Gartner had to add a fifth "quandrant" to their matrix to accommodate Avaya. It's called the "Failed Miserably" category.

Sad to think that this is what is left at Avaya, blindly following corrupt leaders who have taken the company down. Oh, there were many good people - now they've mostly left and what remains are the unfortunates who have been unable to find a better place to land. Very typical sad and yet amusing cry of the doomed: "We have been through a lot in the last couple of months. It has taught us a lot of things...". Translation: "I got royally screwed, but I really learned a lot". Here's a newsflash - Your tough times are about to get a LOT tougher. Liquidation is not pleasant.

Common guys, go easy on the poor fellow. The swine has got his balls grabbed hard by cisco and hence the squeaking.

In a couple of months time when Avaya comes out of CH11 your so called bosses will have nowhere to run for cover. Big layoffs are then gonna happen in your company because you aint selling. As far as Avaya is concerned, we have seen through the darkest hour. So whatever awaits us we shall accept it with open arms.

If you are an ex-employee then best of luck mate. You just took the wrong turn. For an opportunist like you, loyalty is an illusion and don't think you current employer doesn't know that. And guess where will you come back crying when you have nowhere to go.

If you were fired - tough luck mate. You probably deserved it. And have not yet found any suitable employment and so take out your frustration here as you cannot afford a shrink. I wish the very best for you. I really do.

As far is Avaya is concerend. We have been through a lot in the last couple of months. It has taught us a lot of things but the most important of all is " Tough times don't last, but tough men do".

SO long ...s---ers !!!!

If you are frustrated please seek professional help. The point is you don't have to be with avaya till death. Even if Avaya files chapter 7 which I know will not, how does it matter if you have all the skills to secure another job. If you don't have the skills you need to be layed off or fired any ways. Please don't spread negativity. This is the time when we need to be stronger together and use the full potential Avaya has with respect to its products and competition .Cmon get a life guys and don't troll negativity.
