If you worry about RIF, time to explore new jobs. If you are in your 50's, get ready for early retirement. Steve Luczo's plan for WD interest payment of buying SanDisk to crush WD does not pan out.

Going to cloud storage system does not seem to work. Hynix NAND deal off and on, not getting anywhere. No break through on HAMR. Cut max vacation for senior employees and now no set paid vacation. Rumored no more severance. RIF rumors one after another. Any depressing news I missed?

I hear that they are going to "roll out" some new programs to "focus on PEOPLE". They have been talking about it for a couple of quarters now.

Yes indeed, they are Laser-Focused on a number of people right now, let me tell you. But not in a good way. They didn't say it was going to be good.

Yikes. 10, 30, upto 100%? I'm sure IT is going to get hit hard (even though they already did last October). Seems like Seagate is simplifying their technology footprint to reduce maintenance costs. And operational expenses in some business departments is out of control. This cut is going to be deep. Too bad we can't just lower our dividends a bit and keep more jobs.

I talked to a VMWare employee the other day and he said there would not be any new VMWare products for HDD. HDD is officially in legacy mode now.

Or don't you mean the recognition for Engineers in Hawaii? Which they now seem to think Executive Directors should also be recognized?
