Slick way of cost cutting

I was an admin ASM in NY for 10+ years. My Store Mgr (23+ tears exp) and Market Ops (26+ years) both termed within 3 mos. My store had increased sales and we had maxed bonus 8 years in a row. So naturally the new market director canned my SM in 9/15 and I was let go 3/16. Both of us replaced by recent MTP grads making much lower pay grades. I at least received my bonus for 2015. Market Ops had no warning. Regional staff was waiting for her when she returned from lunch 1/16. Took her laptop and keys and was walked out. Real class. My consolation is knowing that within a year the store turned into a dumpster fire.

Lowe's could care less about Veterans! They layed off an excellent manager who worked every aspect of the store. He worked with them for 15+ years and what does Lowe's do. They layed him off. He is a military veteran, and has a family he was supporting. He was replaced with another manager making less pay and whose customer service stinks! Way to treat your military veterans Lowe's! You really hit the nail on the head with this one. Home Depot here I come and my friends have said the same. You dont lay off/fire your best workers who actually know all the customers needs and treat them right!

Any insight as to what happened to the divisional directors when they all got canned in 2015?

I heard they flew them all out to Vegas, gave them a presentation and mislead them, and then the next day did what you explained, confiscated their laptops and keys and walked them to the door.
