I say NO

No. Eddie is too sly in disguising the truth with his creative accounting. The ship will stay afloat but is already broken in half.
Nope. KMart having the inventory blowout sales to raise cash. This cash will probably be used to fund holiday merchandise. So late this year or early next year is my guess.
I would say, no. I don't have a rationale as to why I say 'no', but it'll be another few months or maybe another year before something definitively happens.
I concur with someone who posted earlier in this thread. There something perversely entetaining reading all the negativity and ridiculous statements on here. However, I'm glad there's some rational people attempting to explain why certain will or will no happen.
Why is everyone so enamored with the potential of a bankruptcy filing? Even if this happened, we could still reorganize into a smaller company. I dont think anyone can feel smart at knowing the date or trying to predict a date or non date as it really isnt something to bet on.
THe day the last of the real estate is sold ... thats the day to worry about BK
Nope. Not until at least August.
Still has to get the money he put into keeping stores open so until then, business as usual.
I just read the article from http://searsholdings.com/press-releases/pr/2049. What a bunch of double talk!
Good topic! Been wondering since April which would end first Sears, or Trump Presidency? Looks like Sears is pulling ahead!! Good luck all!!
Just a month ago 90% of people here were saying the BK is in July. Now the story changes again................. Come on people stick with the date or stop posting this nonsense.
We simply won't know until they pull the trigger. It would be illegal to tip anyone off. So it will be business as usual until they drop the floor out.
It will be just like when Eddie merged Kmart and Sears. We found out on the monitors in the elevator cores when we came in.
They might be forced to, but i dont think it will be monday. They need to figure out how they will fund the holiday season.
I think they will file sometime in late September. that way most of the stores will be liquidated going into the Q4, just before Christmas. this way they will maximize the amount of money they get for the merchandise.
pli, NO panic sounds like a great plan!
I admit that it is entertaining to follow this board. There is so much negativity and panic here. Please do not stop, keep posting!
I see another sears store manager is posting again. not panic, just waiting for this to be over.
Not until after the quarter ends at least
LOL, genius! I understand people love drama, but this is not happening.

No, not on the first day he could technically get away with the theft of the good Sears properties. I'd say before end of July. I don't think they'll get to the point where they disclose quarterly sales for Q2. Everything I've seen indicates it will be horrific in terms of same store sales decline.
I say no, too. I think he'll file for bankruptcy when the store closures will no prop up the stock price.
sweet by reading that link sears will now have enough money to give me severance when they close my store or take away my position as an ASM ... or possible my buy out of the company because I have a pension ... he keeps saying in almost every post getting out of from under the pension obligation
No. It's coming. Just not on Monday.
Eddie's not ready to pull the plug just yet. He's still getting his ducks in a row.
Bankruptcy ain't happening.

I am placing my vote on yes.
