I think most people are neither. What's wrong with being an honest hard worker?
What a joke. Easy to say after selling your company for $3.3B to a bunch of backwater rednecks. Laughing all the way to the bank.
People work for money, end of story. I love it when C-level management shoves the whole "do it for passion" thing when they lay people off for money reasons. $1M says ML jumps ship once the chips are even further down.
Bentonville is in the crapper. Pay has never been more than average there so you could argue there were a lot of long term associates who were missionaries. They're being laid off...
I loved watching the video of JK laughing and smiling while coming up with the new Walmart Labs lightning bolt logo. I wonder how much they're paying the "Design Pirate". Probably not much, Bay Area housing can be paid for with hugs and kisses. /s
So delusional...
"So as valuable as the employee might be, you need to be cautious of overvaluing their individual worth to the company at the expense of the culture of the organization as a whole."
Indicted by his last sentence? The Walmart culture in Bentonville has been shoved internet a shredder.
Walmart has canned a lot of good missionaries lately. Meanwhile they had reportedly lock Lore into a five year contract and paid him 3.3 billion to sign on to the mission.
But I guess it's ok to be a mercenary when you're at the top?

Its funny, before I ever saw this article I always thought of him as a mercenary. Rolled my eyes the entire time reading it. I'm surprised WM actually publicized it internally considering all the "missionaries" they just got rid of.
He's a Mercenary.
