Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Current Lawsuit

Does signing the severance agreement mean that we are not entitled to any monies paid from current class action lawsuits? I believe Bed Bath and Beyond is currently being sued for not claiming assistants exempt from overtime and by not paying time and a half in overtime to assistants and dept. managers (when we were salaried) but instead used fluctuating overtime, which is a scale they should not have been using based on the type of work performed.

I just sought out and paid a lawyer to look over severance package. He says we are opting out of any lawsuit including the current class action lawsuit if we sign the severance papers.

From what I hear, since it's a class action lawsuit, we can take part. We just can't sue on our own.
