You're manager should have already given you a heads up, if not and you're in systems or HW, the plan is to lay you off by months end. If you worked for JF, you're part of staggered layoffs for the next month plus, start applying elsewhere. Even if you're told you're safe today, you won't be next week.

Just like anything else on thelayoff.com take this with a grain of salt.
This may be true, this may not be true, we simply do not know.
Occasionally, there are posts that provide more detail and background which makes them more credible - this certainly is not one of those.
I got laid off this Jan. There was no heads up and I was told safe even before that. Got laid off and landed elsewhere. Much better than Oracle.
If you are worried about the situation, just take action and get yourself a new job. It is meaningless to keep looking at the updates on these threads.
If you are getting rid of an entire division why would it take nearly a month? Why not tomorrow? And if it takes a month, why not communicate it clearly? This drip drip drip doesn't make sense.
Not the OP, I am in systems too and I can confirm this is true; for systems atleast. We were given heads-up from our manager to start looking, either internal or external. layoff is scheduled for end of Aug or first week of Sep.
Hardware group is soo primitive on how they execute things ... like dinosaurs .. time for extinction..
Look this is not complicated, oracle is done with HW. Nowbget your resume out there now!

The person who started this thread need to elaborate more on these info . Anybody can start a subject like that and freak people out .
Not saying what he says is not true .. but we would really appreciate more concrete information instead of just throwing words to scare people out more than they already are .
