new wave of layoff soon?

Any idea if there is a new wave of layoffs before year end? and what is the package that an employee worked for 5 years can take?

2 or 3 weeks at the max in usa if u sign waiving liability. I didnt take mine and didnt signed waiver

New wave of layoff soon? You kidding? It's been ongoing since Mark "Chainsaw" Hurd days. I'm glad I survived and got to retire awhile back via EER. Immediately got a job back in the tech sector, I just wished I had left earlier and not suffer through the uncertainties, salary cutbacks, and the always looming layoffs. My advise is to leave this dxc/hpe titanic as quickly as you can, don't be afraid of change, and don't wait for the ax to fall, there are so many good tech companies who will appreciate you more.

I fully agree ... so good to be out with a WFR. No more dipsticks to listen to, no more BS emails, no more threats of non-compliance with stupid processes that achieve nothing, no more cr@p about having to complete Spartans training which achieves zip, no more company spam about how good the big cheeses are at doing their job, and no more low morale.

Get the heck out if you can ... you won't regret it. Some of my former colleagues with 15+ years of tenure are resigning rather than sticking around for a WFR which may never eventuate.

Glad I am out. Enjoying life. No more BS, backstabbing people, Taxes, commute of 1+ hours, A-- kissing management, Favoritism,and more. Just my own little individual company dependent on one lil guy. Muah.

Each quarter will see a hit.

This will go on until the end of DXC year 3 and after that it will probably continue anyway.

Target for end of year 3 is 100,000 employees only. The rest will be gone.

That's nearly one in every two...

This is how Mikey works, HPE folk, try asking your CSC colleagues - if you can find any, most have already been RIF'ed.

The layoffs will continue over the next three years; this was published in a slightly roundabout way in the April Investor Day presentation slides; $400m in cost savings in 'Workforce Optimisation' in Year 1, $1,100m savings by Year 3, so they are planning $700m in costs savings for Workforce Optimisation in 2018 and 2019.

When I left earlier this year I was aware there were WFRs planned until the end of 2017. And I doubt that will be all. There are still a lot of site realignments. If you are a teleworker or not at your organizations primary site you will be gone this year or next.

Per a previous post, I am not sure how anyone can believe that the 8/11 WFR's will be the last of them. Please review the transcript of the latest earnings call, the previous earnings call, the Investors Day presentation... they are all consistent, have targets and the dates they expect to hit those targets.

Not only is DXC attempting to reduce head count but they also appear to be looking to youth as the future of this company. Mikey stated he "...took quite a few people out in the first quarter, but we also hired 6,000 people in the first quarter, 6,000, okay. And we need to do that to continue to refresh the workforce."

Get it, not only is their a reduction in headcount but if you are in the higher wage bracket you too are also on the chopping block to be "taken out"

Wow, sounds like a hit man doesn't he.

Take advantage of DXC University, get certified in a new or in demand technology and last but not least update your resume at least every two weeks.

There wil be waves of layoffs until March 2020 or until no-one is left in a high-cost country apart from the country CSM, an HR rep and his tortoise named bob.

If you're in a high cost country and you wage is higher than a happy meal, then there's a good chance you'll be gone shortly. With only 5 years, you may as well get a CV out to the main job boards and specialist agencies and start looking now.

The best that can happen is that you'll be offered a position with a company that is growing, why else would they offer positions ;-) and okay, you lose 2 months salary. But the worst is, that you'll stay on, suffer more restricted policy and penny or dime pinching; leave with 2 months salary and it could take up to 6 months - depending on how marketable your skills are - to secure another role.

Just look now whilst you've still got the safety net of income.

There won't be anybody left by 2020. Just a large creche of kids. Er...graduates, who think they can run the client's business on jailbroken android app.

I have to ask as well, you should already have published WFR terms. In the USA it was published in April U.S. Workforce Reduction Policy_192_1.pdf

Up to 3 years 2 weeks

3 to 5 years 4 weeks

5 to 9 years 5 weeks

9 to 15 years 6 weeks

15 years or more 8 weeks maximum

All with condidtions

Yes, new layoffs are happening right now, you will get an email with WFR in the subject:

A number of positions within our department have been affected by workforce reduction, and it is with regret that

I must inform you that your position has been eliminated.

The WFR letter was drafted: DXC confidential last updated 5/3/17 5

This means they knew from the first of May that layoffs would happen, just how many don't know.

Worst company ever to work for in all my 40 + years in IT.
