Are you serious guys ??
Here the whole team got a minimum cash package of 60K€ up to 25 months of salary (tax free) depending of years of service + 100K for training of our choice :)
Cheers !
Given that there was no announcement at the earnings call, all these replies are just speculation on the past.
5 months is better than what they gave before (3 months, plus years of service). Take it and run.
They gave 2 months pay "in-lieu" of notice and 3 months severance if you signed the agreement not to sue Cisco. So, it was 5 months before.
Wow no accounting for years of service. How magnanimous.
It's actually a pretty good deal. I've been at companies that only gave 2 weeks, plus 1 week for every year of completed service, and doubled it if you signed the agreement not to sue. No COBRA payments. For new hires, a lousy 3 weeks, or doubled to 6 weeks is nothing compared to the 5 months that Cisco provides. And in the '16 LR, Cisco added 1 week per year for people with over 10 yrs and added 2 weeks per year for those over 20 yrs, so they did account for years of service unlike what they did in '11.
I agree that those who have more years of service find the package a little less favorable to them compared to the ones with fewer years of service, but I liked the package better than companies that used the x weeks per year formula as only the long timers got good packages.
PTO is not severance ...... accrued PTO is yours
let the annual culling begin

Depends what country.
5 Months + Bonus + PTO + Additional 1 Month (If resigned one day prior to the cut off date) = #FeelingAliveAgain
When I got LRed last march I got 1 Month notice + 2 months of pay + Cobra payments for 2 months as well.
5 Months + PTO
