Just wanted to check in and see if folks had any updates on what's going on relating layoffs and reorg.

What about converse? Things are not good over here in Boston and everyone is on edge. Nike keeps sending all their directors over to us, but what are they doing? Morale is horrible in every area. The management teams are the worst they've been in years. I certainly hope that if there are going to be more layoffs at converse, they take a good look at the management and director levels. After all, How many directors does one department need? Nike might have done good for converse in the beginning, but now they are killing us.
Doubtful that we layoff over a holiday weekend at end of August. But they are going to happen. If it wasn't going to happen our leaders would have put out a statement. Too much panic with the employees to just let a rumor sit like this all summer not to address it. The uneasy feelings would be alleviated and better productivity would be an output from definitive communication from top down. Leaders know that the rumors are strong. Choosing to not definitively address them is the proof we need that they are coming.
Nothing but speculation. Seemed like everyone heard the August 15th date, now I'm hearing August 28th and 30th. Some people are saying layoffs are done, while others are saying there is still over 1,000 people left to layoff. The only way we will get answers is if Mark Parker decides to finally update us. In the original E-mail he sent in June, he said " These organizational changes may result in an overall reduction of approximately 2 percent of our global workforce over the next couple of months. We will support everyone affected by this transition, and we will continue to communicate throughout this process." Well guess what, those "couple of months" are just about over, and this is the ONLY company wide e-mail we have received. I feel like i don't even work for the same company.
