Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

Huge lay off coming in sept?

I see lots of products being cancelled and routing, switching consolidation being happening.

That gives sign that huge layoff is going to happen. Also during engineering all hands Kevin clearly said there is going to be re-org soon.

Just handed in my resignation. RELIEF! The uncertainty, constant pressure of working in an environment where I am all of a sudden, after 3+ years of dedicated service, not appreciated, many really good management personnel either choosing to leave or being shown the door was too much for me. Rude, incompetent manager, promoted without any good reason, The biggest joke is the Integrity and Legal emails and surveys. If the management are really serious about integrity, then how come they promote people in leadership position who lie though their teeth and back-stab their team members for promotion? This moribund, unprofessional culture begun to affect my family time. Sent my CV out about 3 months back and now the offers are coming in. Freedom!

Might be as high as 20% in some groups. CFO wants to cut costs to offset shrinking margins and move work to India. It is gradually becoming a commodity business. Going Private is farfetched since there is too much dead weight. Just following big brother Cisco.

IP - internet protocol, intellectual property (but I assume you were asking about IOP?)

IOP - Integrated Operations Plan, was implemented by former CEO Shaygan Kheradpir, in response to cost cutting pressures led by Elliot Management, a Juniper investor, who filed a report with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in January 2015, urging Juniper to reduce operating expenses, reevaluate its product portfolio and scale back on R&D spend.

OPP - is a song by Naughty By Nature ( https://youtu.be/6xGuGSDsDrM )

The new EMEA SVP said on his last all-hands call fo us to "accept all the changes that are coming". A fabulous Sr. Director was fired so that the new SVP could hire his crony from Brocade in his place. The writing is on the wall.

So far the management is positive about projects for next one year in switching and security domain. Not sure if the workforce reduction is going to be all of a sudden or some slow process.

If cost cutting is by cancelling the booze-a-palooza, I mean, the SE Summits, maybe some of the same SEs who would have attended these booze-fests will get to keep their jobs past the big layoffs in September.

What really needs to happen is take a hard look at expenses that have had poor ROIs, and whack the idiots that made the decisions to spend money frivolously. These types of expenses can be found in any functional group at Juniper. At least you can pick out the bad decision makers, all the way up the chain of command, this way.

Well the SE Summits have been cancelled due to Cost/OPEX reasons. Keeps getting worse and worse.

I am in EMEA and just got two better than competitive offers based on which I wrote up my resignation letter. Wow, the JOY of freedom! Juniper has a battalion of legacy workers, who are working here for the last 7-20 years. Some of these people are super-smart. But many are just hanging around like parasites clinging from coat-tails of someone in upper management. Unfortunately, Juniper is now slowly but steadily being ruled by these sorts. Once a great tech vision is dying a dusty death. Well, I am off before the September/October blood-bath starts. Relative short termers like myself, ae beginning to get claustrophobic here. Ciao, it was good while it lasted but now its time to leave the carcass to the long term vultures.
