This happened to me, just shy of my 12th year career at HDS. It saddens me to realize just how dispensable we can be to a company. My heart goes out to all those affected by the layoff's.
The internal emails were stating they were making more money than they ever have yet they were firing or laying off people left and right.
That happened to me exactly 1 year ago on the 29th of August. Same thing, making a lot of money and still laying people off. :( Hitachi was my home.
The sad thing is they are laying off American employees and performing the same work using unqualified offshore Indian companies and contractors.
From what I can see the new management have no clue on the strategy and how to move forward.
