Thread regarding L3 Technologies layoffs

What the heck is going in Greenville

Why layoffs in Greenville??? I just applied for a position there, there are dozens of open positions there - has L3 gone mad? I am assuming this is legit and we know for sure that Greenville has been cutting resources (I've read all threads - so yes, they are) - but why???? AND HOW COME they also hire at the same time.

I am confused now.

Darn it.

All you have to do is talk to your superivsor tell them a sad story, make them feel bad and they will get you back in with the Contractor company and then slip you back in or maybe make up a job for you.... you may have to shed a tear or two to get them to cave in, it's easy... that is how those VP's got back in, I heard one in the hallway talk about being rehired at Waco after being at Greenville..

Greenville was for management only. Other sites solicited 100% of the workforce.

I was looking at the posted roles, most of them are 'hard to fill' roles - probably legacy stuff that has been sitting unfilled for ages.

I noticed many openings in Gville but I think that this layoff was one of the few times when it really was a complete surprise to even the uppermost management at each location. They have hundreds of engineers in Waco and 30+ recent postings for engineers in Gville. I think that this was very abrupt at the local levels.

Most likely hiring for positions different than those having layoffs. Could be over-staffed in particular departments, but under-staffed in others.

I worked for L-3 26 years. Two words of advice. Stay way! This is a bad company run by unprofessional and unethical management.

Not sure this is what you mean but lots of companies are playing a game. They're laying off masses while advertising for positions.

The job openings are fake. A pathetic rouse to try to cover the layoffs.

Yes, they're that desperate and that low.
