Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Hang on for the payout if you can

If you have a lot of years service - which is probably the only thing keeping the 'remainers' in DXC right now - then hang on for the payout.

But be sure, that 'hanging on' will continue to be painful I am afraid, as DXC will surely come up with even more draconian ways of making your work life in DXC unbearable, with further Draconian cost-cutting measures until March 2018 in the hope that it may inspire more to leave or just force them to leave if they don't.

The KRA/goals are now nearly all financial with just 1 customer satisfaction thrown in to make it look like a 'balanced' scorecard. Of course everyone will fail against the financial goals anyway, so it will only be down to their manager playing favorites again, as to whether you get rated down or get to stay to cover their backs and make them look good a little longer. As they are thinking just the same as you, but of course have you as their buffer right now.

If you think the money is worth putting up with all this cr*p then by all means stay and play the waiting game. If your well being is more important then leave.

All I can say is once you leave, you will feel like a great weight has been lifted and will find new energy you didn't know you had. It can't be healthy continuing to work in that place, not when there are so many other roles, options and companies who will value your contribution, offer incentives, nights outs and team summer events because they understand that happy and strong teams are far more productive and loyal than one where it is being constantly bullied.

Thought this was sound advice from @OUzgRsw-otz more people should see.

@@OVQKfwo-1kwa, I am trying to hold on to 60 because I don't want to find a new job for 6 months. I hate coming to work each day. I hope I can last 6 months and then leave this place far behind for sweet sweet retirement.

If selected relax, go on a vacation, screw work of any kind. Just go out and have some real fun. Your slave job is finally over. If you are fortunate to retire that is even greater. I got the latter and I am doing what I love to do now. Pasture is much greener on other side. NO more BS management crap, to do's, or to listen to any more dysfunctional stories about there kids and the families. Hooray. Turning 60 was the best thing that has ever happened to me. Thank you HPE for WFRing me. It's been great. You are such a so screwed up company and industry at the moment.

totally agree, depends on location, in Europe it may be better to wait and get paid out if you have been here quite a few years. US might be different

It all depends on the location you are at. In some EMEA countries you get at least 2 years of salary when being layed off in case you have 25+ years.

Such an ill-thought out, careless advice.

A good friend of mine who was with the company for over 25 years received around 12k in hand (after all the taxes) and this was 4 months ago when employees were given 5 day notice (Inform Monday and out Friday).

Now, both the notice period and the severance is rapidly shrinking. Once laid-off you will quickly burn the peanuts you get from DXC and will still be searching for a job as you will be labelled a “laid-off” employee. Everything about the DXC severance package is designed to force employees quit on their own so they don’t have to pay even that amount.

Exit as quickly as you can, while you still have a job.

Don't let the door hit you on the a$$ on the way out. That is what is guaranteed. No money no gold watch no two week notice. Not a farewell lunch. It's a personal decision to stay/go and money is playing an ever dwindling role.

Both DXC and HPE have lost and still losing clients and money. Regardless of years of service, I am afraid the longer one stays, the lesser the package will be. Most employee handbooks state that Severage payments are NOT guaranteed.
