Thread regarding Sears layoffs

The information on this board is no longer reliable

This place used to be for real employees of SHC, Sears stores and Kmart stores. Now it is being misused by journalists, outside interests and investors who are trying to short the stock of the company and want to see it fail.

I don't trust the information on here anymore.

Is there another place to find out what is going on?

There's at least one other site like this one. It has some posts, but it's not as popular.

At present, 14 million shares of SHLD stock have been short sold which is about 70% of all available stock to the public. Short sellers stand to make a great deal of profit if Sears Holdings files for bankruptcy, however, they stands to lose if the business improves and also because they must pay large stock borrowing fees over time. These people don't care about large scale job loss, or people not receiving pension payments. Traders go thru these threads with a fine tooth comb regularly; look no further than how many views certain posts get. They may post here hoping to influence public opinion for profit due to the anonymous format as well. Sears Holdings workers, perhaps try your best to create a large communications network among yourselves, as the 'information' posted here becomes more and more unreliable.

When so many want you dead, it's a good time to look inward and ask where YOU went wrong.

@nnl- usually, yes. But I think we have plenty of disgruntled (current and former) associates who know the language but post nonsense just to stir the pot.

This is the key

I usually trust those who are proficient in Kmart/Sears-speak and use the shorthand language only other employees would recognize. The rest I ignore.

It's ok to cheerlead this thing

All the way. I get it. I wouldn't want to be jobless either.

But what kind of company actively advertises locally but doesn't even have a physical presence within 50 miles of the targeted audience ?

How do you plan to sell PAs when it looks like every single one of your stores appears to be closing soon?

Have you removed the brain to save the patient?

Im an ASM at Sears been with the company for 30 years, i have posted on pebble a negative comment and was forced to remove it ... so the information you read on pebble is ONLY the information that sears wants you to read , so if you think your getting all the proper information you have your head stuck in the sand and deserve what you get, I am currently looking for work elsewhere daily as should all of you

Pebble. I just want to give a shout out to store # 0000 who exceeded their credit goal by 5909 apps today!!! Same social used on every app but so what?Way to go team!!!

I'll be laid off tomorrow but today I want to congratulate employee xxx for getting 1000 member feedbacks yesterday. Doesn't matter that they all ended with Love, Mom. He did it!!!

And the 100% SYW using the police non emergency phone number? We delight our members.

That's how we authentically embrace the transformation. (Fifty likes)

@OP - Let me get this straight, you are looking for a site where all the information presented about SHC is 100% accurate, totally transparent and free of any bias. I would say that is a tall order to fill about any subject, let alone SHC. But there is a site that does meet the requirements you listed! It is Pebble; it is solely for the use of "real employees of SHC" and no journalist or outside interest are allowed to post there. According to SHC it is totally reliable and contains all the trustworthy information that you need to know.

The stock shorters are everywhere. If I had a dollar for every slam piece on Business Insider or Forbes or Seeking Alpha (mostly written without compensation), I'd have at least as much as Eddie. These are all engineered to sour investors on the stock and drive it down, making the shorters that much richer and encouraging even more articles and fake posts.

I usually trust those who are proficient in Kmart/Sears-speak and use the shorthand language only other employees would recognize. The rest I ignore.

Agreed with both... need to weed out the BS ... but most things on here have come true except the BK rumor to be done on the 10th ... we all as sears employees just need to keep our heads up, and When its our time to leave know you gave your all ..

Apart from the comment boards on articles across the web there is no other place to get company insight. You should use the information you read here as a piece to the puzzle, add it to what you hear from your colleagues, water cooler conversations and from what others posts say. I never believe just one post, I combine it with other pieces of information to form a picture into what is about to come. The result? You know what's coming and can prepare from it. The information on this board has saved me $1000's but only by cross referencing it with what I hear on the ground

I think the information we're all looking for is still here. It's just getting harder to sift through all the other bs we find here now. I still look at this site often, but I don't generally take it at it's word anymore.
