@1ubu - Correct, BK just continues grasping at straws in desperation!

MO:

  1. Identify new "fad of the month" to chase.

  2. Form a new group, invest huge resources into this new group, without any business plan or strategy whatsoever.

  3. If possible, aquire an external company and merge it to the new group. Pillage the acquired company for any talent, valuable IP, etc. Destroy their culture, methodologies and morale so they are rendered completely ineffective to produce anything of value within Intel.

  4. Once the acquired company has been plundered, divest or write-off the empty shell. Layoff any remaining employees.

  5. After 1-2 years (or as soon as Burning Kash gets bored), kill the new group and cancel whatever half-a$$ed products they had cooked. Layoff the entire team (or whatever remains of it).

True story!

@1ubu "..looking in the dark for a life raft" Excellent and witty metaphor!

So good I'm going to steal it and take complete credit and give you no attribution.

And they told me I should stay on the technical path and I couldn't be a manager... Ha!

Google re-directed Google Glass from a consumer product, because of privacy concerns when people were being recorded, to factory production aid for Boeing, VW and other corporate accounts.

Intel continues to tout clunky VR goggles and headphones to the gamers, all because of its self serving justification that it will require faster PCs and bigger servers, larger files, etc. Samsung gives away VR goggles to entice you to buy a different phone. Facebook invests in VR content creation because it has more money and no enough things to do with it. None of that is hidden from sight to the business world that is starting to see what's BK has hidden behind the curtain in Oz.

It's not great leap to guess who will make a real business out of this. Google is delivering productivity value and still testing the waters. Intel is looking in the dark for a life raft.

You don't see the decimation of NTG and demise of wearables posted on Circuit, when that was being touted as the "next big thing" just 1-2 short years ago!
