anyone know when Oracle's hiring freeze will be over for this year?

Not true for China. There was a big lay-off earlier this year in China, entire Sun employee were gone.

There is no REAL company wide freeze. Organizations that Oracle cares about (OD mostly) are hiring, everything else (most Dev, customer support, QA, etc) will starve for resourcing for the foreseeable future. Also, much easier to get headcount in India or China, regardless of org.
