What happens to your accrued vacation time if you voluntarily quit Verizon??? Will you get paid for the unused vacation time or will it fall by the wayside

It took 5 weeks to get my accrued vacation paid. I called payroll after 3 weeks (1-800-932-7947) and they said they had 4 weeks from when they are notified of your departure to process and audit the final payment. The gross amount was exactly what I was expecting based on my accrued hours but the taxes were higher as a % of the gross than my normal paycheck (makes sense because I had a lot accrued and if that were my normal paycheck I'd be in a higher tax bracket). I should recover the taxes when I file my 2021 return.
I recently quit Verizon. 06/10 was my separation date and was promised by Area HR that I would receive payout on my 235 hours of PTO. Policy also stated I would receive the payout as well. However, when I checked my paystub for 06/25 paycheck there is nothing showing my payout. I received my commission payout, but still waiting to receive some sort of documentation that I will receive what was promised. I was told it would be on this final check too. I will keep you updated. I have emailed payroll and reconnected with the HR representative that made the promise.
I was mgmnt and I had max vac . I received a lump sum check for the entire amount . If you don't see it in a month call payroll and tell them how many hours , not personal time only vac , they will get it right .
I was paid for vacation time
Not personal

Once time is given/accrued to an employee, believe it has to be paid to them no matter the nature of their separation. If person gave notice, it should appear in their last check and have 401(k) taken out, at least I've not found a document disputing that.
Being laid off is different than leaving on your own.
@eex - unless in California they are required to pay out on personal time as well.
You will get paid for your vacation time- you will not receive pay for unused personal time.
Yes, you get it paid out in California
I think it depends on the state. In California, I was paid out on all vacation time when I was laid off.
