Thread regarding Sears layoffs

As Usual, Sears Screwed it Up

The Alexa-enabled AC is available on Amazon. They added it to an existing listing for Kenmore AC units that has been up for a while, so there are existing reviews. Average review? 3.something stars including numerous reviews about how the remote app doesn't work which most reader will think means the Alexa skill.

I'm tempted to order one and return it as "not as advertised " on Sears's fine just so I can leave a bad review and screw Eddie out of a few bucks in the process.

Agree with 1xoo completely.

Also like the fact that the Amazon reviews are for the most part, real reviews unlike the Sears website reviews. Kenmore is going to get roasted if there are the problems that I read about on mysears.

I wonder how long Amazon will keep Kenmore on there. Amazon unlike Sears intervenes if you have a problem with a 3rd party vendor. They have done it for me with no problem. Kenmore is going to be a big hassle to keep on the site.

Don't forget the vendor reviews you can write when you purchase something. All of those horrifying delivery stories will now reach an Amazon sized audience.

Smart this, smart that...most modern ACs have delay timers now that do the same thing without needing to connect online and having to interact with a smartphone app.

Why does everything have to be "smart"? It's just more stuff to break, and yet here we are.

I miss the day where household appliances never had electronics. That is one reason why you see older stuff still running when the new generation stuff comes and goes many times over the course of one single lifespan of something older. That and the quality of parts. Too much plasic and thin steel.

The real gaffe: Sears went out of its way to replace those defective units, which really weren't defective. The fix was to use the Frigidaire app to control the units.

Anyone who complained got a new unit and was told to keep the original one or dispose of it on their own.

The Amazon listing automatically merge same item numbers/UPCs. This is common throughout the site. Bad batch of product gets bad reviews. Defect is fixed, bad reviews remain.

With poor products like this, don't know how Kenmore can compete on Amazon. Sales must be aweful.
