Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Too many managers with too few to manage

We have too many layers of Directors, Manager, and Supervisors. Many just have 3 to 8 people working for them. Cut out some of these middle men. There is no reason you can't manage 20 people under you. All the tedious activities like sick time and PTO are handled online and even DPMs are very automated as well as expense reports. Also need more hands on managers who are willing to get their hands dirty and actually help with the workloads.

Couldn't agree more, @OjJxqko-4ehg. We desperately need more people who are actually doing the work, not just standing there and delegating, and then spending the rest of their time twiddling their thumbs.

Totally agree

We need to cut the fat -

Replace Manager ( non hands on ) with people who are technical and can provide technical leadership to teams

Like wise for Directors who bury themselves behind emailing people to do this and that. We need engagement ( active ) at all levels .

We used to have Managers who did exactly what you are asking for......getting their hand dirty with us but those Managers were passed up for the new breed of Managers that the Sabre culture is creating. Managers that Manage up, take credit for what the Team has done, will sell out their Team as needed and get promoted to Directors and VPs. So the good Managers have had enough and have moved on either outside Sabre or into IC roles.
