Thread regarding Advance Auto Parts Inc. layoffs

Customers are jumping ship

Customer service has gone way down to cutting hours in the stores. Not just commercial but DIY also. Forget commercial because Advance is going to lose most of that anyway due to service and lack of part availability. As a CARQUEST employee who now is working in an Advance store due to consolidation, I've never seen a company who don't listen to people whose main service was to the commercial customers. We have DM's who have never invoiced a part to anyone telling us how to sell parts. What a bunch of idiots. Don't know how much longer I'll be there because my customers are jumping ship.

I am a former employee of Advance and the Carquest people speak the truth !! I owned my Commercial in my town and little by little cutting of hours lack of customer service and some dumb decisions from upper management cost them I left and even my walk in customers left !!

I quit buying from Advance entirely. I was spending over $10k per month with Carquest. When they combined with the nearby Advance store, I realized I don't speak Spanish. Adios amigos!

I am a shop owner as well. I continue to buy from my Carquest salesman because I have considered him to be a business partner for the last 16 years. He goes over and above to take care of my problems. I support him, NOT their parent company Advance. If he leaves I'm gone. I know many other shop owners who feel the exact same way.

As a shop owner finding quality parts has been a big problem, even NAPA has brought in crap china parts to be competitive with the likes of Advance, Zone and O'reillys. Only thing left is customer service and Advance has dropped the ball more times then I can count. For my cheap customers I only care about price and how fast I can get the part since it is all the same junk. My better customers, and those willing to wait an extra day or two, I get OE, or I search the internet for what is available, and not made in China. CARQUEST used to do a great job before Advance took over, and Napa will still try as well.
