Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

WFR's Happening Now.

Been reading that this week was set to be a bad week for WFR's. Seems to be true, hearing quire a few names or references of people that are getting WFR'd.

My gut is telling me that the Lawrie video and Hilton email were nothing more than an attempt to preempt and soften what is occurring today.

"And, with the expectations of synergies around us, I understand the challenges surrounding the amount of WFRs."

I am sure he does. How phony.

They hire people in El Paso, India, etc. who are completely unqualified and zero experience and let go of the experience people and dont careless if the customer suffers. The only goal for the company right now is profit. Horrible management that does give ratssazz about the customers or employees. August will be a bloodbath.

WFR's will happen that is the sad truth. Understand that this will upset families, but you have to realize that these are bound to happen. So learn new skills - Cloud, aws, google, containers, docker, openshift, linux etc and move on !

Other than the redundant role redundancies, Australia hasn't been hit yet. Could be that DXC values our services. More likely due to the number of former UXC staff who have left. In one division, about 20 from a team of 85 or so resigned in a 4 week period. No need to lay folks off if a good percentage of them leave voluntarily.

You guys get ripped in the US.In Australia we get min 3 months severance. Plus any owed annual leave and long service leave on top of that. I got wfr from that miserable sh--hole hpe almost 3 years ago. Best thing ever happened. Found work outside within a month. There is hope and better work out side that craphole joint guys. Just get out of the place...it is a dead duck.

Company’s business and financial positions warrant, eligible Employees will be provided a

Severance Benefit as set forth in the table below based on the Employee's Years of Service.

Years of Service Severance Benefit

Up to 3 years 2 weeks

3 to 5 years 4 weeks

5 to 9 years 5 weeks

9 to 15 years 6 weeks

15 years or more 8 weeks maximum

I thought severence maxed at 8 weeks not 4? I know several people who've been training others to do their job knowing that the WFR was coming today. But most of them are happy to be done with DXC

I'm sure he's very concerned. So much so that his company is providing a whole 2 days notice. You get invited to the 1 to 1 meeting first thing Thursday morning and are told you're done and your last day is Friday. I guess that's twice as long as some people get, right? Also, the severance is awesome - 4 weeks of pay for 28 years of service. That's more than some people get, right? As they say, you should be happy you don't have a job - at least with DXC. This is fact - it happened to me today.
