I am pretty sure I am on the short list to go but I can appreciate that the Denbury CEO had the guts to tell us to our face all the unfortunate measures the company was going to have to take for a chance to survive.

All the managers I have spoken with know nothing about this so called layoff. You should be ashamed of yourself for the mental anguish you have put so many of our fellow coworkers through. This is not something you joke about! Some people do have feelings in case you didn't know.

This is happening. The planning is 70% done. Next week or the week after we'll know soon. This isn't a rumor. I wish it were. I was told I'm not on the list but he said I'll be surprised by some who are. I guess whatever we need to do to make it.
I have confirmation that layoffs DID NOT start at 7am.
We should know in about 2-3 hours if all this was comical B.S.

They sure set up a lot of chairs to be doing these "mass layoffs" before the meeting at 9! 🙄
Why would YOU have "confirmation"?
It is not realistic to think they could have the layoff process complete before the 9 am meeting tomorrow. All your post does is confirm that everything on here is gossip and speculation!

Anyone who has a clue about corporate financials and current commodity prices should be able to see how one might believe that this could happen...but I would never go start a cruel rumor that could upset people for days...or weeks...just because I think that. That's my honest opinion of Denbury's current financial state and looking into the future. But again, I'm not going to start rumors of impending layoffs and massive cuts to headcount. That's just down right cold blooded....especially if it's not true.
How are you going to call a post destructive and then finish off by saying you agree it will happen. Smh.....
This stuff is destructive at best. If it's not real or doesn't happen, then the person who started this hopefully has sense of guilt or remorse for causing such an upheaval. If not, then that's just downright sad and that person really needs to take a look at him or herself and determine if you are really a person. No one in their right mind would start a terrible rumor like this and not have a sense of remorse if you are wrong. I hope it's not true, but I can't see how this can be avoided in the foreseeable future.

The rumors at this place are ridiculous, who starts this sh-- and do they have nothing better to do?? I know of a few people who were so stressed about the possibility of layoffs today that they couldn't sleep last night.
I think it's pretty much safe to say that going forward everytime there is a town hall or qtrly update, rumors will be going around for that there will layoffs the day prior.
This is the exact reason I finally responded to a recruiter who reached out to me about a position open. I will be moving on to bigger (and hopefully better things). Good luck to everyone (except for those that start these ridiculous rumors). and also Denbury...I hope they are able to survive and come out of this downturn and start making some money. Like most people I have a lot of DNR stock and I would love to see it get back to the $20 range....I can dream right???

I was told by someone in the know that about 3 weeks ago the execs asked department leaders to evaluate the talent on their teams and provide a ranked list.
My house closes in Sep, worked for him at 2 co's. He's in the meetings. Said soon. Said he signed a sheet won't tell more.
