All drivers at our store were informed that the new delivery "strategy" is to eliminate all driver positions come the end of August.
We can be rehired after last day as day one new employee. So guys with more than 15 years of dedicated service get raped of all seniority.
Any driver knows that the long days are not just because of the so called delivery. They come from removing old appliances, from taking apart customer homes to fit appliances in the house, from ASMs telling customers we will move a fridge to the garage or basement, from selling items not in stock (ICBs), from flatbed loads not being pulled, from driving 40 minutes between deliveries because of the next day promise, from over riding and overloading the trucks. But go ahead and blame the drivers who rarely even get a chance to take a real lunch break and go ahead and believe that this eliminating us will change anything. It will change. It's going to s--- for the customer. Because we really tried very hard to take care of our customers but apparently "good customer service" and helping them " love where they live" is all b---s---. The real credo should be to do the least amount possible and increase profits at all costs and sell, sell, sell.
