Cisco India President Dinesh Malkani quits

Dinesh was instrumental in securing some of the big digitisation deals in India, what could have influenced him to quit..?? any inside birdie stories...?

He had good relationship and rapport with the support(GSQS, GIS, TAC etc) folks too..not sure if there going to be any adverse impact in picking up roles..that are soon to be LR'd somewhere else in the world.

In India, business deals are sealed through relationship and Dinesh had developed such good relationships for Cisco. Will be interesting to observe the impact in coming days. Btws too much chai and samosa causes ulcer, so better stay away!

Dinesh Malkani was not available for his comments..as per the news report, hopefully he has not signed any papers in return of one time settlement that restricts him to reveal the fact. All the best Dinesh. We better get ready for another round of new buzz words, fancy way doing simple things and a re-org(to be announced during the mandatory all hands over a cup of chai-samosa)!

Dinesh Malkani was instrumental in making India $1 Billion dollar market for Cisco. India was on verge of becoming $2 Billion market for Cisco due to Prime Minister Modi's Digital India push and lot of villages in India don't have reliable internet and mobile connectivity. This will affect Cisco's growth in APAC region.

Cisco has really great opportunity to collaborate with Indian govt in pushing digital solutions. John Chambers is good friend of Modi and Cisco madegot good deals for building IP backbone for Reliance Jio which ventured into Indian 4G mobile and high speed broadband market in a big way last year..

Maybe he just fancied a change. It could just be that simple. Why bother speculating you'll only get an ulcer. People do move on for lots of reasons not all sinister.
