Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Any word on whether or not Corporate Services was hit? Curious to know what is happening with Space Planning?

I heard they are outsourcing the majority...

Can confirm that meeting and events, maintenance, custodial, and reception will be contracted out to CBRE starting September 15th. They said in meetings that everyone would be transferred over, but cbre chose not to transfer some - making etws contracts cut short and screwing over any black badge. I could see why most decided to just jump ship.

Whose bright idea was 'Freestyle'? Sure hope they are gone ... what a waste and created a direct drop/loss in productivity. On the IT side, whose bright idea was Softphone? Doesn't work for most people ... all created LESS collaboration, people felt less valued, and less work gets done. Well know there will be less employees, so maybe now there will be a spot for those remaining to sit and feel unvalued.

The rest of black badge custodial, maintenance, space planning, and possibly some other groups that I'm missing right now are all being outsourced. Their last day is September 15th. Employees had the option of interviewing for positions with the new company or leave. Many are leaving. I know a lot of them have been with Nike for decades and feel like it's a slap in the face to have them do the same job but not as a Nike employee any more. I heard the other company was keeping their pay rate the same but insurance costs significant more and isn't nearly as good. I've already seen the difference in the quality of work between black badge employees and the outsourced companies and it's not good.

All moves are and have been on hold since June. And they likely aren't going to lift the hold until after first of year. S---s!

This rumor has been floating around since 2015 (at least) - I doubt they will be outsourcing it as they would have done it by now - however, given the madness that's transpiring this Summer nothing can surprise me any more
