QTL's world is crumbling, EVERYONE (customer's and governments) hate Qualcomm's business model. Apple will stop at nothing to destroy it and they are NOT going forward on any settlement that doesn't substantially change the current model. Apple wants a fixed royalty with a max cap. If this happens, Qualcomm will be a much different (smaller) company. Derek left because Apple and Qualcomm are at odds and Apple would not even begin to negotiate with him. Sorry to say the the outlook is not good; this will be a much different company a year from now.

Hire more pretty ladies to HR. Only way to keep engineers in this sh*thole
Murthy would have accelerated 100x the layoffs (without severance packages as he is doing at Intel) and maximized the outsourced teams to his home country. His Phd is a perfect match for the type of screw job he mastered with his English noble accent.
Move to Intel, they are looking for Q engineers.
I'm kind of freaked out that leadership is not trying to calm employee fears and project image of confident leadership. At least Murthy had a commanding demeanor

Derek is incompetent, and he is also a very mean person (A-Hole). His departure is actually a good thing for QC. Alex Rogers is a good guy, and QC should be in a better hand. Still tough road ahead, but is a positive change.
