How has storage fared?

I was let go at the beginning of the end last September so I'm very curious how my former coworkers in (tape) storage have fared - specifically in Broomfield. My condolences to all of you. Hopefully your packages were generous and you will find luck in future endeavors. Future companies will be so lucky to have your talent.

Too bad these commentors don't even read and understand the post! The writer asked about Tape - no one even bothered to acknowledge that. But I will:

Bldg 5 got hit in both Jan 2017 and last week. Almost all tape folks and their managers are gone; all developers gone; a few left to sustain whatever is left. I think the latest library refresh is about to be released, so most of those folks gone, too.

Bldg 3 got hit in Feb 2017, largely wiping out supplier quality (good luck keeping manufacturing lines and hundreds of suppliers going on that one!); rumor is Bldg 3 gets hit again soon.

Actually, what little Sparc cloud there is uses ZFSSA, as does the x86 On Prem Cloud Machine. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

It appears they chose the FS1 as the storage for the new cloud infrastructure. So ZFS is probably in trouble going forward.
