Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

So there is a Q&A Roundtable Call this 8th & 11th Sept for UK Delivery employees

"These events will be held in an informal and relaxed manner, and our aim is to allow for an open dialogue through this period of change"

In reality, very few will pose any hard hitting question fearing repercussions but if you could ask anonymously, what would would you like to know? not that we would get any truthful answers

The managers themselves know it's a waste of time. They're not trying to "lie", it's just simply that they are completely clueless and have limited info (only a bit more than you, hence the meeting) and all decision-making is handled globally with very little real power in the regions now. So think of them as puppets, who are also biding their time.

They are often 'told' to run these meetings. They have to be seen to be 'transparent' (even the fully opaque ones!) to avoid being charged with "Management never communicate with us" during times of uncertainty and change.

They know its a game and they know you're only half listening. They ask for questions in advance so they can avoid everyone banging on about redundancies and pay rises when they would rather tackle a much broader discussion about delivery, strategy and immediate changes. So they will drop the 80% of similar questions and spread out the remaining 20% to make it look 'fair'.

Whilst they might like to have an HR guy on tap to answer your 'difficult questions' they also know that announcing the presence of an HR guy on a regional call would give the wrong vibe and illicit a big "Oh sh-t!" moment from the audience. So they'd rather defer your questions to promises of getting back to you or - even better - request that you send your questions to UK-spam@dxc.com.

Truth is the UK's OI is lower than a footprint at the bottom of coal shaft, so trying to talk-up the UK's future is a hell of a job right now. A few small contract extentions and perhaps some slight reduction in fixed costs and mobile phones isn't going to make diddly squat.

Whatever has happened has been down to clueless leadership not reading the market or taking control of the situation early enough.

They won't show any DXC black and white slides at the meeting. It's not because of the pschology of removing all colour from a meeting; it is to avoid showing you models with bright teeth, smiling, as some of you might be old enough to remember what a smile looks like. Giving staff hope in the current climate is dangerous and so neutral topics, tones, colours and speakers will be kept low-key as possible.

No one will open up on those calls .because if they do they will be added to the layoff list. These towns halls are a waste of time.

Indeed I have had questions asked that were ignored. It's too late to polish the turd....time to roll it in glitter.

As if any UK staff are actually worried about delivery any more, we are too busy worrying about when the next round of redundancies will be, how much money we'll lose with the pension changes etc. With the creation of DXC management had a golden opportunity to re-engage with staff that had been thoroughly demotivated by HPE & CSC but instead they openly ignored staff and are only concerned about cutting costs. DXC is broken.

I have asked questions before, by email and in advance of the meeting, but they are ignored on the call. Promises have also been made to follow up unanswered questions after similar calls, but as usual it is all lies. There is no point any more in having these calls as it is all spin and no facts or honesty. All very sad but true

"How much longer will the words 'UK' and 'Delivery' continue to be seen in the same sentence?"
